Perfezione 2021 is a sound work promoting „excellence” as a concept and as a phenomenon. It directly refers to the very imperfect times of the present moment and unfortunate events in the arena of the Anthropocene, such as the ecological catastrophe, the Covid-19 pandemic or the global economic and political situation.
According to Euclid’s formula for perfect numbers, a perfect number is a natural number that is equal to the sum of all its divisors less than that number. The first perfect number is 6 (=1+2+3), the next is 28 (=1+2+4+7+14), and the third is 496. In the gallery space, using one loudspeaker and the Pure Data program, I generate a simple tone – a sine wave at 496 Hz in 496 seconds, adding an element of perfection to space-time.
